Initially a personal outlet for creative writing, Circumspecte grew to become an award-winning digital platform that produces and shares meaningful content inspired by Africa(ns). In their own words, the brand objective is “capturing meaningful insights, spurring interaction and inspiring creative action”.
To build upon this client’s considerable visibility and impressive body of work, we sought to develop an identity which would capture three main elements: its creative energy, ideas on transformation and engagement, and appeal to conscientious, multilingual professionals interested in current/African affairs.
Circumspecte’s logo (and by extension, support graphics) is layered with meaning; an icon that is half butterfly, half quotation mark speaks to brand pillars of transference and motion; actively engaging the community through open conversation. A bold, script typeface is used to hint at the platform’s personable and expressive approach to creating content while maintaining high standards of professionalism. Finally the use of a soft, warm hue of yellow as the primary brand color communicates creativity and hope.
